CDX ARK PC 3.0: Installation Instructions
Installing CDX software on your PC is a 3 step process, and each step is covered by a support article:
1. Review the “Minimum Requirements” to ensure your PC is appropriately configured
2. Install the CDX Software
3. Activating your PC software by using the license key at came with your disks to retrieve an unlock key
Installing the software on a server to serve attached PCs requires 2 additional steps
1. Sharing the software on the server by mapping the network drive
2. Installing a shortcut on the desktop.
This article contains information about installing CDX ARK on a PC or on a network.
Note: You will need to use the license key on the original DVD case to retrieve an activation code from CDX to unlock the software for each PC on which you intend to use the software.
Note: The server on which the software is installed does not need to be activated unless it is also being used by instructors or students as a workstation.
Minimum System Requirements:
1. Login as local administrator, with rights to install software
2. 8 Gigabytes of free space.
3. Windows XP SP2 or later
4. Pentium 4 (or equivalent) or better.
5. Sufficient RAM for the Operating System.
6. Minimum monitor resolution of 1024x768.
7. A DVD-ROM Drive for installing the software.
8. Sound card and either speakers or headphones.
9. Internet Explorer 6.5 or later.
10.Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 or later.
11. Macromedia Flash Player 7 or later.
You can use the CDX software on as many PCs as you have licenses for. You may install it on individual PCs, or on a network server.
If you intend to use this software on more than one PC we strongly recommend a Server Installation.
You will receive activation codes from CDX for each licensed PC. After installation your licence will need to be activated on each PC on which you intend to use the software. The server does not need an activated license, unless it is also being used as a workstation.
Installation time will depend on the speed of your DVD-Drive. Installation may take a considerable amount of time due to the large amount of CDX video.
Requirements:
1. Login as local administrator, with rights to install software
2. 30 Gigabytes of free space.

7. A DVD-ROM Drive for installing the software.

Installation Procedure:
1. Insert DVD-ROM Disc 1. This will load the InstallShield installation program. 2. Follow the installation instructions on your screen to install the CDX software onto the hard drive of your PC or network server. Insert each DVD as requested. You will need approx 20Gb of available space for a full installation. After you have finished the installation you will need to configure a shortcut on the desktop of any client PCs accessing a server. You will also need to activate the software on every PC.
For Server Installation - Client setup
1. Each client PC needs a shortcut to the CDX software installed on the server. There is no need to install anything else on the client PC.
2. Login to the client PC as a Local Administrator,
3. Create a network mapping to the CDX software installation folder share on the server,
4. This folder should contain either the ARKXXClient.exe file or the GSXXClient.exe file, depending on the version of CDX you have installed.
5. Right-click on this file and choose 'Send To' then 'Desktop (create shortcut)',
6. This will create a shortcut to CDX software on the client desktop,
7. You will need to run the shortcut and follow the steps to activate this client instance, see the Activatiing CDX articles
8. Repeat this process for each client computer.
