Ontario: Activation System Patch
In some installations of Ontario CDX ARK Plus PC Version 4.2.2 the program may fail to activate properly. The program will seem to activate correctly, but may fail to write the successful activation value to the registry. It will then ask to be activated again, and cause the user to go into an activation loop. To fix this problem, we recommend that you applying this patch update, as follows:
To allow the system to activate properly:
1. Login to the computer as a Local Administrator, 2. Download this patch: http://www.cdxglobal.com/resources/Ontario_Activation_Patch.zip 3. Note that the filename will be 'Ontario_Activation_Patch.zip', 4. Right-click on the zip file to extract its contents to your desktop. 5. Note that this archive will contain three files: 'act.dll', 'cdx.dll', 'CDXPlusPC.exe', & 'CDXPlusStart.exe', 6. Open your installation folder, the default is: is C:\Program Files\CDX Global\CDX Ark Plus\, 7. Copy the three files above into this installation folder, 8. Note that if this is done correctly it will ask you to confirm overwriting each file.
When this is completed, you will now be able to activate your CDX software. Please ensure that you are logged in as the Local Administrator, and that there are no security programs such as DeepFreeze, or the Norton Security Suite blocking access to the registry. You should temporarily close any security programs to make sure that the activation process can write the necessary registry entries. This can be done by following the 'Ontario: Network Installation' knowledgebase article.
