Ontario: Start as a Service Patch

In some installations of Ontario CDX ARK Plus PC Version 4.2.2 the 'Start as a Service' box is unavailable, and you may prevent you from configuring your installation to start as a service. There are two ways to fix this, and we recommend that you applying either of these patches, as follows:

To restore the 'Start as a Service' option:

1. Login to the computer as a Local Administrator,
2. Download a file from this link to your desktop,
3. Note that the filename will be 'dwebpro.exe',

4. Open your installation folder, the default is: is C:\Program Files\CDX Global\CDX Ark Plus
,
5. Copy the 'dwebpro.exe' file into this installation folder, or
6. Alternatively make a copy of the 'CDXPlusServer.exe' file in (found in your installation folder) and rename it to 'dwebpro.exe',
7. Note that this will now enable you run the software as a service. This can be done by following the 'Ontario: Network Installation' knowledgebase article, and will allow you to tick the 'Start as a Service' box in the Network Configuration tool.

To always start the software 'as a service':

1.
Login to the computer as a Local Administrator,
2. Simply add this key to your registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CDX Global\CDXPlusPC\CDXPlusStart\StartAsService=1, or

3. Download a file from this link to your desktop,

4. Note that the filename will be 'dwebpro.reg',
5. Double-click on the exe file to merge the registry entry
.
