CDX+ PC: An Installed Webserver May Be Conflicting With The Program
CDX Plus uses a webserver to access it's content, and will not function correctly if it's installed on a computer that has an exiting webserver or MySQL database running. In addition to this, CDX Plus will not load correctly if it has failed to close it's webserver correctly. The program will open succesfully but will not load any of the content inside the CDX Launcher window, instead showing the following error:
'MySQL db failed' - or a similar error.
To repair this problem, please do the following:1. Login to the computer as a Local Administrator,2. Ensure that you don't have a webserver or MySQL database already running, and that you have closed the CDX Plus program,3. Open the Network Configuration Utility, by clicking on the shortcut in: Start -> Programs -> CDX ARK Plus -> 'Lan Config' or 'NetworkConfiguration',this will open the Network Configuration Utility,5. Click on the 'Server Settings' button,6. Change the Web Port to a free port,7. Change the My Sql Port to a free port,8. Ensure you have the 'Single user mode' option selected in the IP Address field,9. Click on 'Start Server' to apply any changes,10. Note that this will then attempt to run the program.
If you can't find the shortcut to the Network Configuration Utility, this is may be a Stand Alone installation. To open the utility, you will need to create a new shortcut to the 'CDXPlusStart.exe' file, and edit it's properties by doing the following:
1. Login to the computer as a Local Administrator,2. Open windows explorer and browse to your installation folder. 3. Note that this is 'C:\Program Files\CDX Global\CDX ARK Plus\' for ARK+ by default,4. Note this should contain the 'CDXPlusStart.exe' file,5. Recreate the shortcut to the program by right-clicking on the 'CDXPlusStart.exe' file and choose the 'Create Shortcut' option,6. Note that this will create a shortcut in the same folder called 'Shortcut to CDXPlusStart.exe',7. Rename the shortcut to 'NetworkConfiguration',8. Right-click on the file and choose the 'Properties' option,9. Note that this will open the properties for this shortcut,10. Append ' /lanconfig' (not including the quotation marks) to the target location, so it looks something like this: "C:\Program Files\CDX Global\CDX ARK Plus\CDXPlusStart.exe" /lanconfig11. Note that this shortcut can now be used to access the Network Configuration Utility.
