CDX+ PC: Proxy Server Blocking Content In The Browser

Although CDX Plus PC does not require an internet connection it is installed as a web based application on your PC or network server.  When some schools use a proxy server to setup their services, this can block the CDX Plus program from being able to correctly access its local PC or server resources.

solutions for this problem:

Bypassing the proxy server for local addresses.
CDX Plus accesses its content in much the same way as Internet Explorer accesses a website. The installed version of CDX Plus stores its content locally on your computer, and using a proxy server can block access to the content when it attempts to authenticate. If your using the installed version of CDX Plus, you can bypass y
our proxy server setting for local addresses by doing the following:

1. Login to your computer as Local Administrator,
2. Open Internet Explorer (version 5.5 and above),
3. Expand the 'Tools' menu and choose 'Internet Options',
4. Note this will open the Internet Options window,
5. Click on the 'Connections' tab and click the 'LAN Settings' button,
6. Note that this will open the 'Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window,
7. Note that the 'Use a proxy server...' option will be ticked and will have an address,
8. Tick the 'Bypass proxy server for local addresses' option,,
9. Click 'OK', then click 'Apply' to confirm this change.

Inputting the CDX Plus program in the proxy server exemptions.
Your proxy settings may allow you to enter exempted programs on the local computer, or network proxy server. Inputting the installation
directory and/or program file into these exemptions may allow the program to operate correctly. For CDX Plus Online you will need to input the 'CDXPlus.exe' program file, and the directory where this file is located. If your using the installed version of this program, you will need to input the 'CDXPlusStart.exe' program file and the installation directory for that program. Please note that the default installation directory is usually:

CDX ARK Plus PC:
C:\Program Files\CDX Global\CDX Ark Plus\
CDX GS Plus PC: C:\Program Files\CDX Global\CDX Gs Plus\

Please also be aware that you may need to restart the client computer and/or proxy server for these changes to take effect.

Disabling the proxy server setting.
Please note that doing this may prevent your internet and services from functioning properly.
You can disable your proxy server setting by doing the following:

1. Login to your computer as Local Administrator,
2. Open Internet Explorer (version 5.5 and above),
3. Expand the 'Tools' menu and choose 'Internet Options',
4. Note this will open the Internet Options window,
5. Click on the 'Connections' tab and click the 'LAN Settings' button,
6. Note that this will open the 'Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window,
7. Note that the 'Use a proxy server...' option will be ticked and will have an address,
8. Make a copy of the address and uncheck the 'Use a proxy server...' option,
9. Click 'OK', then click 'Apply' to confirm this change.

Note: You may wish to consider setting up the program on a stand-alone PC that doesn't use a proxy server to help us diagnose the problem. Doing this will help us better determine the nature of the problem.
