CDX+ PC: Installation Disk Read Error

Some installations fail when the installer encounters difficulty when reading a file contained on the installation DVDs.

There are several possible solutions for this problem:

1. Fingerprints & Scratches.
The most common cause of this issue is due to getting finger prints and small scratches in the discs. These force the DVD drive to spend a lot of time trying to read the disc, and can therefore cause the installation to fail. The best way to ensure that you have properly cleaned the disc, is to wipe it down with a lint-free microfiber cloth, wiping from the center to the outside, and then check to see that the surface of the disc doesn't contain any scratches.

2. Low Memory.
Another common cause of this problem is having low memory. This forces the DVD drive to perform a much greater number of reads, and can cause the installation to fail.  To see if this is the problem, try installing the software on another computer with a higher amount of memory, preferably a more recent computer with newer hardware than the computer on which you previously attempted the installation.

3. DVD Media & Drive Compatibility.
Variability between manufacturers can produce random incompatibility between a DVD Drive and a DVD disc. To see if this is the problem, try to install the software from another brand of DVD drive, preferably a DVD burner as these drives usually have much better DVD media reading strategies.
