CDX GS & ARK+ PC: Activation Instructions

Installing CDX software on your PC is a 3 step process, and each step is covered by a support article:

1.       Review the “Minimum Requirements” to ensure your PC is appropriately configured

2.       Install the CDX Software

3.       Activating your PC software by using the license key at came with your disks to retrieve an unlock key

Installing the software on a server to serve attached PCs requires 2 additional steps

1.       Sharing the software on the server by mapping the network drive

2.       Installing a shortcut on the desktop.

This article describes the process of automatically or manually activating licenses for the CDX software on PCs that are stand alone or attached to a local server, i.e. not the CDX Online version.  The automatic procedure requires the PC to have an internet connection for activation.  If it is not connected to the internet follow the steps for “Manual Activation of CDX Software”.

Note: You will need to use the license key on the original DVD case to retrieve an activation code from CDX to unlock the software for each PC on which you intend to use the software.

Note: The server on which the software is installed does not need to be activated unless it is also being used by instructors or students as a workstation.

If you intend to use this software on more than one PC we strongly recommend a LAN installation, as this will prevent multiple installations and save time.

Requirements:
You will require:
1. Permission to install software, which will require a login as the Local Administrator.
2. A connection to the Internet form the PC you are activating.  (if your PC is not connected to the internet see the article “Manual Activation Procedure)
3. The ability to browse to http://support.cdxhosting.com/
4. The ability to pass information through your firewall
5. The CDX software installed on your server, or on the individual PCs if they are not connected to your server
6. The DVD case that contained the CDX disks, with the sticker containing the Software ID and User ID.
